I was overjoyed to find this site --- for so many years I had meant to write to Joan to tell her how much I loved and honored her for the warmth and vividness and color of her being and her writings, and how much they meant to me, and how much they helped focus my ideals and thoughts and aspirations. Finally, I am doing so --- perhaps somehow it might reach her, wherever she is.
