A LOT TO REMEMBER

1962

One of Joan Grant’s favourite regions in France was the Lot. This memoir blends her experiences over several visits of the beauties and history of a region as yet unknown to most foreign tourists. But she was always a travel writer with a difference: able to see the psychic record etched by events of the past, she encounters ghosts and recalls events entwined with the history of the places she visited, first in the company of Charles Beatty, her second husband,  and then with her third husband Denys Kelsey, with whom she later lived in a small red sandstone house near the fairytale village of Collonges-la-Rouge.
